Welcome, Oscar the Grouch.
Un-happy to be here. No more questions! This interview is over.
We haven’t asked any questions.
Well, then don’t bother.
Umm, well, Oscar, your trash art has become an overnight sensation. Tell us about the day it was discovered.
It was the worst day of my life! I was outside, sorting my trash, minding my own business, when some lady comes looking at my trash — calling it art! Next thing I know, people won’t stop bothering me. And I haven’t been left alone since…
Did you always dream of becoming an artist?
This is a dream? More like a nightmare.
Well, when I first saw your piece, Muck with a Side of Yuck, it…
… ruined your day?
… looked as bad as it smells?
No, no, it…
… smelled so bad you could taste it?
It changed my life. Do you have a favorite piece of trash?
Favorite piece? How can you have one favorite piece of trash? I love all trash. That’s a grouch’s motto.
Where do you turn for inspiration? Is there a specific place in New York that inspires you?
I don’t know about inspiration, but I usually look at the bottom of a trash can for my trash. One time, I was just hanging around in my trash can — you know, minding my own business when — out of nowhere, a garbage truck came by and accidently dropped some of its trash right at my can! Now that was a rotten day. Heh-heh-heh!
Is there anything else you’d like to tell our readers?
As a matter of fact, there is one last thing I’d like to say to everyone: SCRAM!
Bring your vision to life.
